Overlooking the spectacular canyon of Alzou, Rocamadour, medieval city, 2nd site in France, attracts each year more than 1.5 million visitors or pilgrims who, sometimes still, climb on their knees the 226 steps of the grand staircase to reach the chapel miraculous which shelters its jewel, the Black Virgin, venerated for more than a millennium.
